Details:
STS-41-B commemorative cover autographed by the entire five-member crew: Vance D. Brand, Robert L. Gibson, Ronald E. McNair, Robert L. Stewart, and Bruce McCandless II. Postmarked at Greenbelt, Maryland, on February 11, 1984, the cover commemorates STS-41-B, flown aboard Space Shuttle Challenger. The mission is best remembered for Bruce McCandless II’s historic untethered spacewalk using the Manned Maneuvering Unit (MMU)—the first free flight by an astronaut in space—as well as the first untethered EVA by Robert L. Stewart. Also among the crew was Ronald E. McNair, who would later lose his life in the Space Shuttle Challenger disaster on STS-51-L in January 1986.
Fine condition.
Vance D. Brand (1931–2024) was a NASA astronaut who flew four Space Shuttle missions after serving as Command Module Pilot on the historic Apollo-Soyuz Test Project, the first joint U.S.–Soviet space mission.

He was one of the seven crew members who perished in the Space Shuttle Challenger disaster on January 28, 1986, and remains one of the most celebrated figures in the history of the U.S. space program.
Robert L. Stewart (b. 1942) is a retired U.S. Army brigadier general and NASA astronaut who completed two Space Shuttle missions, including STS-41-B, during which he conducted one of the first untethered spacewalks using the MMU.
Bruce McCandless II (1937–2017) was a NASA astronaut best known for making the first untethered spacewalk in history during STS-41-B, becoming an enduring icon of human spaceflight through the unforgettable image of him floating freely above Earth.
