Stephen S. Oswald autographed flight-flown cover documenting carriage aboard a T-38 aircraft, identified as N902NA. The cover is completed in manuscript with the flight details, including the December 15, 1986 flight date, the mission purpose noted as “Logistics,” and remarks reading “El Paso → Houst,” indicating a flight from El Paso to Houston. Oswald has signed in black ink.

Stephen Scott Oswald (born 1951) is a retired U.S. Air Force lieutenant colonel and NASA astronaut who flew on three Space Shuttle missions. He served as pilot of STS-42 in 1992 and STS-56 in 1993, and commanded STS-67 in 1995, the second flight of the Astro observatory. Before joining NASA, Oswald was a U.S. Air Force test pilot and accumulated extensive experience in high-performance military aircraft. Over his three missions, he logged more than 33 days in space.
