Allen W. Dulles autographed First Day Cover bearing the 4-cent John Foster Dulles commemorative stamp, postmarked Washington, D.C., December 6, 1960. The cachet features the slogan “Peace With Justice” along with a portrait of Allen W. Dulles. Dulles has signed the cover prominently in blue ink.

Allen W. Dulles (1893-1969) served as Director of Central Intelligence from 1953 to 1961, overseeing the Central Intelligence Agency during much of the Eisenhower administration. Following the failed Bay of Pigs invasion, he resigned at the request of President John F. Kennedy. In 1963, Dulles was appointed by President Lyndon B. Johnson to serve on the Warren Commission, which investigated the assassination of President Kennedy. He remains one of the most significant and controversial intelligence figures of the Cold War era.
