Original World War II United States Treasury Department poster encouraging Americans to file their 1944 federal income tax returns. Measuring approximately 22 x 28", the colorful poster prominently proclaims, "YOU ARE ONE OF 50,000,000 AMERICANS WHO MUST FILL OUT AN INCOME TAX RETURN BY MARCH 15TH," illustrating both a withholding receipt and IRS Form 1040. Issued by the United States Treasury Department, Bureau of Internal Revenue, the poster concludes with the message, "FILE YOURS EARLY."

The reverse contains the original printed explanatory message titled "WHY THIS POSTER IS IMPORTANT," encouraging businesses and public locations to display the poster prominently as part of the federal government's wartime public information campaign.
