8 Framed Civil War Era Envelopes With "Contrabands of War" Artwork

Description

These 8 envelopes are framed with a modern Rebel Flag Patch in the center. The envelopes all feature different images of "Contrabands of War". This is in reference to Union General Benjamin Butler's policy of escaped slaves that made it to his location of Fort Monroe were not to be returned as they were then considered to be property of the Confederacy, now in possession of the Union.
