This is a set of small calligraphy tools housed in a Tang Dynasty Chinese craft container. The container is characterized by carved lacquer technique (applying thick layers of cinnabar lacquer and then carving with a knife), as well as exquisite landscape carvings. The calligraphy tools include an inkstone, a water pot, and a brush, but due to their age, they may not be very practical. The container has a diameter of approximately 15 centimeters. This item is from the collection of the consignor's grandmother, who was born in the Meiji era.
