Fossilized Abelisaurid Theropod Tooth

This authentic fossil tooth belonged to an Abelisaurid, a group of predatory theropod dinosaurs that dominated parts of the ancient Southern Hemisphere during the Cretaceous period. Recognized for their powerful jaws, robust bodies, and distinctive skull ornamentation, Abelisaurids were formidable hunters that lived alongside other famous carnivores such as Spinosaurus and Carcharodontosaurus. Many specimens retain visible serrations, showcasing the adaptations these predators used for feeding.
