Jun Oson
Japanese, b. 1979
Jun Oson was born in 1979 in Japan. Oson started his career as an illustrator in 2005 with the initial creation of characters with peanut-shaped features which have since developed further to become the cornerstone of his iconic style. Oson has now built a distinctive style, based on the creation of stateless style characters and silhouettes combined with bright colors and humorous techniques. The pop culture of the 70s and 80s, centered on cartoons and manga, is an essential base of his humanoids and eclectic creatures. Characters of various skin colors, monsters and robots appear in his imagination which speak of “diversity”, something that he has always sought to transmit throughout his career. His work has been exhibited internationally, from Japan, USA and the UK.
