Ronan Bouroullec
French, b. 1971
Ronan Bouroullec (b. 1971, France) is a French designer and artist based in Paris whose practice spans industrial design and drawing. Working under the name Studio Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec, he collaborated with his brother Erwan for two decades on furniture and objects for Artek, Flos, Hay, Kartell, Ligne Roset, and Vitra — including the Joyn office system for Vitra (2002). Their work is held in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), New York; the Centre Pompidou, Paris; and the Design Museum, London. In 2015, he and Erwan received the Honorary Royal Designer for Industry (Hon RDI) designation from the Royal Society of Arts. Bouroullec now works independently, producing hand-drawn works built from repeated sequences of lines made with a Japanese felt-tip brush, as well as ceramics and bas-reliefs. He is represented by Galerie kreo, Paris.
