The figure is modelled standing in graceful contrapposto with one arm dramatically raised, the serpent coiling sinuously around her shoulders and arm. Her elongated form, stylised features and flowing drapery lend the piece a strong sculptural presence characteristic of continental decorative sculpture of the interwar period. Mounted upon a circular variegated marble plinth with engraved title plaque reading “Woman with Serpent – By Boije”. Measures 20 x 13 x 46 (height) cm Condition: Good condition. General light wear, rubbing and minor surface marks consistent with age.
