Description
Kurdish Rug Iraq c. 1820, an early Kurdish rug which seems to belong to the rather broad 'Sauj Bulag' group, though we believe that this specific example was woven by Kurds living in what is today Iraq. Glossy, fleecy wool, intense Kurdish colors, and obvious Kurdish whimsy. Provenance: The James D. Burns Collection 3 ft. 10 in. x 12 ft.
