An English Silver Hilted small sword with marks for London, 1723, silversmith's mark 'MW' in a sunken cartouche, silver grip wire detached but partially present; triangular colichemarde blade. Blade lg. 29, overall lg. 35 in. A Pattern 1796 Foot Officer's sword, the inboard half of the guard removed, faceted knuckle bow and pommel, twisted copper wire covered grip; straight double-edge blade with simple foliate etching near the ricasso (tip chipped); black leather scabbard with brass mounts.
