AN ENGLISH COMMERCIAL NEW LAND PATTERN-STYLE MUSKET, early 19th century. 39 in., .76 caliber barrel with London proof marks at the breech; slightly convex lock plate with double line border engraving and pointed tail marked '1814' and trace of engraving below the pan; walnut stock (cracked below the upper rammer pipe), brass furniture including butt plate with narrow rounded tang, 'S' side plate, trigger guard with rounded finial, three rammer pipes and a replaced iron nose cap, later steel rammer; later leather sling.
