The musket, converted to percussion, with a 39 1/8 in., .70 caliber barrel; flat lock plate with stepped tail, marked 'W/KETLAND/&Co' in front of the cock; walnut stock; brass furniture including butt plate with a narrow tang; convex British-style side plate, trigger guard with acorn finial, four rammer pipes, and a small silver oval thumb piece, later wood rammer. Overall lg. 54 1/2 in. With a printed Massachusetts Militia mustering order from New Bedford, 1812; and a printed Massachusetts Militia disbanding order dated 1840. Musket Condition: Barrel toned to brown, lock has light pitting; stock has loss forward of the first rammer pipe, brass toned to yellow, lock functions properly, nipple is missing.
