A JONATHAN FUNKHOUSER PERCUSSION LONG RIFLE, Beaver County, Pennsylvania, mid-19th century. 43 1/8 in., .40 caliber octagon barrel singed on the top 'J*Funkhouser'; flat lock plate with rounded tail; lightly figured maple stock with cheek rest on the left side of the butt; brass furniture, engraved patch box and side plate, sheet brass rammer pipes and long nose band, later wood rammer. Overall lg. 59 1/4 in. Condition: Barrel toned to deep brown; lock toned to gray/brown; stock is refinished; brass toned to deep yellow, action functions properly.
