WICKHAM CONTRACT U.S. MODEL 1822/28 FLINTLOCK MUSKET. 42 in., .69 caliber browned barrel marked 'US', 'P' and 'LS'; lock plate marked 'M.T.WICKHAM/PHILA' below the brass pan, tail is unmarked; walnut stock has an inlaid shield thumbpiece of lighter wood and has a 'LS' cartouche on the left side; iron furniture, the over barrel straps on the barrel bands are somewhat narrow and more decorative than is typical for the model; steel rammer with button head and threaded end, sling swivels. Overall lg. 57 5/8 in. Condition: Barrel browning is mostly intact; lock toned to brown, furniture toned to mottled brown; lock functions properly.
