A SPRINGFIELD MODEL 1822/28 MUSKET CONVERTED TO PERCUSSION, 1837. 42 in., .69 caliber barrel; lock plate with pointed tail marked 'SPRING/FIELD/1837' and with a spread wing eagle over 'US' in front of the cock; walnut stock with two 'EB' cartouches on the left side; iron furniture of proper form, butt plate marked 'US', steel rammer with button head, sling swivels. Overall lg. 57 3/4 in. Condition: Iron cleaned bright, light pitting at the breech and on the lock plate; stock has scattered dings and dents, lock functions properly.
