A U.S. Model 1860 Light Cavalry-style saber (possibly southern) with a somewhat crudely cast brass hilt with foliate decoration on the quillon, two branches and brass pommel cap with coarse vine decoration, lather covered grip with twisted brass wire wrapping; curved single edge blade with false edge at the tip, single narrow fuller, single wide fuller and unmarked ricasso; steel scabbard lacking the suspension rings.
