To function seamlessly in the cramped confines of a tank without snagging on wires or internal equipment, these revolvers were specifically modified with a shortened barrel and a "bobbed" (spurless) hammer. This allowed for double-action-only firing and prevented accidental discharges. The Cylinder is stamped “SPT 50” for the Singapore Police Force, 1950. Following WWII, the British government supplied thousands of surplus Enfield No. 2 Mk 1** revolvers to colonial police forces across the British Empire to help re-establish law and order. Because it is a police-issued Enfield, it is highly likely that its short barrel and spurless hammer are completely factory-original, as these features were heavily favored for police holster carry |||| CONDITION: Very Good. 60% of the original black painted finish remains on darkened metal surface.
