Description
S#: K1711 | Matching on receiver, bolt, and force matched on magazine plate and stock | Retains German proof marks at rear sight location | No visible import parts found | Originally a German K98 that was captured by Yugoslavia and converted to a Model 48 in the Factory 44 Crvena Zastava (Red Flag) arms factory located in Kragujevac, Serbia | Armory workers at Factory 44 ground down the top of the receiver to erase the German Nazi eagles (Waffenamts) and original manufacturer codes (like byf, dot, or ce) before stamping their own crest over it. Workers often left the "Mod. 98" text untouched on the receiver sidewall because it was time-consuming to grind down the sides. They also left small German inspection stamps intact on hidden areas like the bolt, rear sight assembly, trigger guard, and barrel |||| CONDITION: Excellent. 99% Original blue finish. Markings are crisp and clear. Wood stock is excellent and solid with beautiful wood grain. Mechanically functions. Bore is excellent. Nice Rifle! ||||| CLASS: C&R
