Exceptional vintage autograph album containing signatures from an extraordinary cross-section of twentieth-century jazz, blues, gospel, and American music legends. Most notably, the album includes a rare early signature of Sun Ra signed under his birth name, "H. Sonnie Blount," dating from before he adopted the name Sun Ra, making it an especially desirable example for collectors of avant-garde jazz and African American musical history.

Additional signatures include Coleman Hawkins, Jesse Fuller, Clarence Lofton, Alan Lomax, Emil J. Christian, Vic Dickenson, Eubie Blake, Cab Calloway, Sam Chatmon Jr., Lightnin' Hopkins, Anita O'Day, Charles "Lucky" Roberts, Otis Spann, Cousin Joe Pleasant, Barney Josephson, Bobo Jenkins, G.H. "Stick" McGhee, Elizabeth Cotten, Sunnyland Slim, and T-Bone Walker.

The collection represents an exceptional gathering of pioneering performers whose careers shaped jazz, blues, boogie-woogie, folk, gospel, and early rhythm and blues. Particularly significant are the signatures of folklorist Alan Lomax, legendary Harlem nightclub owner Barney Josephson of Café Society, blues pioneers Lightnin' Hopkins, Elizabeth Cotten, Otis Spann, Sunnyland Slim, and T-Bone Walker, jazz greats Coleman Hawkins, Cab Calloway, Vic Dickenson, and Eubie Blake, together with the exceedingly scarce pre-Sun Ra signature of Herman "Sonnie" Blount.

Almost all of the signatures are individually signed on single-sided album pages. A remarkable autograph archive documenting many of the most influential figures in American roots music during the mid-twentieth century.

Overall very good condition with expected age and handling wear. The album exhibits typical age wear throughout.
