Details:
Bob Dylan's legendary years in Woodstock, New York are beautifully documented in Dylan in Woodstock, the acclaimed limited edition photographic volume by renowned music photographer Elliott Landy. Published by Genesis Publications, the work presents Landy's intimate images of Dylan captured between 1968 and 1969, immediately following Dylan's retreat from public life after his motorcycle accident and during the creation of some of the most influential music of his career.
This deluxe Genesis Publications edition was limited to just 750 copies, with copies numbered 1 through 100 issued as deluxe editions. This example is copy number 53 and is personally signed by Elliott Landy on the limitation page. Accompanying the volume is the original signed photographic print depicting Bob Dylan seated barefoot with his acoustic guitar in Woodstock, housed in its original presentation folder. The photograph is signed by Landy in white ink.
Bound in luxurious brown suede, the volume is housed in its original publisher's cloth slipcase. The book presents more than 100 photographs, many reproduced full-page, documenting Dylan's secluded life in Woodstock with family, friends, and fellow musicians during one of the most creative and influential periods of his career. Landy's accompanying text offers firsthand insight into his friendship with Dylan and the circumstances surrounding these iconic images, providing an unusually personal portrait of the artist away from the spotlight.
Fine condition overall. The suede binding remains attractive with light expected handling wear, while the original cloth slipcase is likewise well preserved. The signed photographic print exhibits light bending and minor age-related handling wear.
Following his near-fatal motorcycle accident in 1966, Bob Dylan largely withdrew from public life, settling in Woodstock, New York, where he found both privacy and renewed artistic inspiration. Elliott Landy became one of the very few photographers granted unrestricted access during this formative period, producing many of the definitive images associated with Dylan's late-1960s renaissance. Published by Genesis Publications in a finely produced limited edition, Dylan in Woodstock remains one of the most important photographic studies of the artist and an exceptional collectible combining a signed volume with an original signed photographic print.
