One of the most influential blues musicians of the twentieth century, Sonny Boy Williamson II helped define the sound of post-war Chicago blues through his expressive harmonica playing, distinctive vocals, and unforgettable stage presence. Although he adopted the stage name of the earlier blues harmonica player John Lee "Sonny Boy" Williamson, Aleck Miller became a legend in his own right, recording classic sides for Chess Records and appearing on countless influential blues recordings. During the 1960s he enjoyed renewed international acclaim, touring extensively throughout Europe and inspiring a generation of British blues and rock musicians including members of The Yardbirds, The Animals, and Led Zeppelin.
