Description
A VERY unusual unique Chinese/Vietnam War era Converted Japanese Type 99 7.7mm Last Ditch Arisaka rifle into a VC Sniper Rifle. Brought back during the Vietnam War by the soldier who captured it...it seems to be a standard Type 99 rifle modified into a sniper using pieces of several firearms. The most unusual feature is the 3-5 over scope is mounted on the right side...using a Russian Nagant style mount, set up backward. It has what looks like a Imperial Japanese chrysanthemum bracket on the receiver and a oriental identification plate on the mount. The scope has a rubber eye shade and the numbers on the parts are mostly matching. Bolt knob is broken off (supposedly shot off by the owner when he captured it) and overall condition is fair to good! The khaki sling looks to be an older Chinese web sling. Wish we knew more about it, a very interesting sniper...
