Footnotes: Junshin single malt whisky is a special one-off blend produced to convey to globally renowned Master Blender Richard Paterson the story of Japanese whisky, the long years of dedication to quality, and the passion of the whisky makers. This whisky blends Mizunara malt, Spanish oak malt, and smoky malt aged for more than 20 years with an aged malt for longer than 50 years in Japanese Mizunara casks. Suntory's Chief Blender Shinji Fukuyo created the impressive example of the blender's art at the Yamazaki Distillery. The characters denoting 'Junshin'(pure and true) on the label are the works of calligrapher Souun Takeda. Junshin was named for the terms jun (pure) and shin (true), resembling the pure mindset of the whisky makers, and their truthfulness to the craft.
