A Lament Configuration puzzle box from Clive Barker's horror classic Hellraiser. Essential to the movie's plot, the Lament Configuration created a gateway to a dimension of suffering and summoned the demonic Cenobites. The box was originally obtained by Frank Cotton (Sean Chapman) before being taken from him by his teenage niece, Kirsty (Ashley Laurence), who ultimately banished the Cenobites by closing it.
The lot was originally purchased from credited special makeup effects designer Bob Keen, and is one of only five produced for the film. The box is made of solid mahogany and has ornate brass-etched panels adhered to every side, with a layer of varnish applied all over to produce a slight sheen. There are some signs of light scratching, and the brass etchings have begun to peel in some places. One of the corners is also dented as a result of being thrown across the set by Laurence. The box is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Keen's company, Image FX, which is signed by Keen. Dimensions: 3" x 3" x 3" (7.5 cm x 7.5 cm x 7.5 cm)
Estimate: $15,000 - 30,000
