A concept sketch of WALL-E (Ben Burtt) nesting hand-drawn by renowned character designer Jay Shuster for the production of Andrew Stanton's WALL-E. In the film, trash robot WALL-E was left to clean Earth 700 years after humankind abandoned the planet, only to meet a more evolved robot, EVE (Elissa Knight), with whom he became affectionate.
Original, hand-drawn, non-digital concept artwork from Pixar productions - including this sketch, which was completed during production - is extraordinarily scarce. WALL-E ultimately went on to receive six Academy Award nominations, including two for Burtt and a win for Best Animated Feature.
This concept drawing depicting the lovable titular robot nesting is rendered in ink on paper. A secondary sketch of a vehicle is rendered by Shuster the opposite side. This sketch has pin holes from mounting. Dimensions: (folded) 8.5" x 11" (21.75 cm x 28 cm)
Sold without copyright; see notice in the Buyer's Guide.
Estimate: $1,500 - 3,000
