A striking and beautifully executed hand-carved wooden urn / vase, featuring exceptionally detailed high-relief carvings around the central body. A wonderful example of skilled traditional woodcraft, likely of Oriental (Chinese, Burmese, or Indian) origin, dating from the late 19th or early 20th century.

Material: Dark hardwood – likely rosewood, ironwood, or similar dense tropical timber
Form: Classical urn shape with flared rim, waisted neck, bulbous carved body, and turned pedestal foot on a round stepped base
Construction: Hand-carved and turned solid wood

Rim & Neck: Smoothly turned with a flared lip and polished finish showing beautiful rich grain
Body: Densely carved in high relief with a continuous scene of intertwined figures, foliage, and rocky landscape – possibly depicting workers, warriors, or mythological figures amongst mountainous terrain (typical of Chinese or Southeast Asian narrative carving traditions)
Base: Elegant turned pedestal foot with concentric rings and a wide circular stepped base for stability
Finish: Rich dark brown patina with warm reddish undertones, developed naturally with age
