A very similar plate, but with floral decoration, is on display at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, accession number CIRC.1143-1967. Creamware, a type of lead-glazed earthenware, was originally developed in Staffordshire in the 1740's and 1750's but was perfected by Josiah Wedgwood in the 1760's.
