Condition Report:
Measurements with frame: 55 x 48.5cm.

The canvas appears to have been lined and is providing good support. Craquelure is present across the image, most notably to the thicker pigments to the sitter's face, but the surface appears to be stable overall. Some superficial scratches to the work. Inspection under UV reveals various areas of overpaint, including scattered retouches across the sitter's face, hair and headscarf, as well as larger areas to the sitter's neck and decolletage. The background also presents some evidence of retouching. The image presents an uneven layer of cloudy varnish and surface dirt which renders some areas of restoration difficult to read.
