A 1894 Made French Châtellerault M1891 Mosin-Nagant 7.62x54mmR Bolt-action Rifle that is in good to very good condition with a bright and defined bore that needs a minor cleaning. The action appears to function properly, and the finish shows standard service wear. French made Mosin's are some of the rarest production rifles that were produced for Russia during the early startup of the new service rifles. From 1892-1895, France assisted in the Russian Army Re-arsenal process as an ally to the Tsarist nation. These rifles bear the wording “Ordnance Factory Chatellerault” in Cyrillic script on the crest and French steel provider codes, proof marks, and inspection stamps. This particular one is a Finnish capture with SA stamps and a Finnish stock. The rifle is force matched but retains its original French receiver and barrel.
