This wonderful and Very Rare antique is an advertisement for Ferris Corsets, founded in the late 19th century. Stylish lady is double sided with solid corset with lace and a bow with shoulder sash advertising the business. This particular woman and corset first appears in a 1914 advertisement. The base with faux wood grain finish is "Ferris Good Sense Corsets For Women and Children" with inner wooden frame to keep her steady. She measures approx. 45" x 17" x 14". The piece sedom comes on the market, and this is a rare chance to own this piece. The last time a stand like this came on the market it sold at Morphy's October 27, 2023 auction for $11,000.00 dollars.
Condition
Condition shows scattered oxidation, surface spotting, abrasions, scratches and areas of lithographic loss, particularly to the figure, with additional edge wear and losses consistent with age and use.
