Daniel Johnston (Daniel Johnston, January 22, 1961 - September 10, 2019) was an American singer-songwriter, outsider artist, and illustrator. Born in Sacramento, California.

Daniel Johnston (2006)
He began his musical career in the late 1970s. In the early stages of his career, he released his works by distributing cassette tapes recorded at home, one of which was highly praised by the music reviewer of the local paper, the Austin Chronicle. His performance at the "Woodshock music festival in Austin" in 1985 in Austin, Texas, brought him to the attention of MTV, and he later influenced many musicians, including Kurt Cobain of Nirvana. In 2005, his life was made into a documentary film.
