The barrel tops are hand engraved with “KRUPP FLUID STEEL MADE BY” and “A.H. FOX GUN CO. PHILA. PA.” An engraved gold bar accents the rib at the breech. The splinter forearm features full-coverage fleur-de-lis checkering and a fully engraved Deeley latch and iron. The casehardened boxlock receiver is exceptionally well executed in the first-generation FE Grade pattern, with extensive floral and scroll engraving throughout. Both sides feature a gold-inlaid Setter, surrounded by floral engraving and the maker’s name in a banner. Additional gold accents include four diamonds on the hinge pin and four diamonds at the top lever pivot. The bottom of the frame features an engraved woodland game scene depicting four birds, while the trigger guard carries additional game-scene and scroll engraving. “SAFE” is inlaid in gold on the top tang | One thing to note is that there is an A.H. Fox FE Grade bearing serial number 16109 documented in The Double Gun Journal, Volume 30, Issue 1 and whether the present gun is the same example, or a subsequently upgraded or recreated example is unknown and we have no documentation backing this up. It is an exceptionally impressive example of high-grade gunmaker's workmanship. The quality and execution of the engraving, gold inlay, checkering, finishing, and overall detailing are remarkable and is the highest quality shotgun we have ever observed |||| CONDITION: Excellent, Like new. 100% Original Factory Finish with beautiful blue barrels and a magnificent Colored bone and charcoal case finish on the receiver, trigger guard, and forearm hardware. Retains nearly all 100% of the original gold-inlay designs. Engravings remain crisp as if they just left the factory. Wood Stock and forearm are excellent, with just a few minor impressions.
