Receiver tube, marked "MARCONIS W.T. Co. LTD, Pat. APPN No. 28413-13, 2V-PIF, N1899", manufacturer: Ediswan Lamp Works, England for Marconi's Wireless Telegraph Co. Ltd., platinum-iridium filament, Edison screw base; the asbestos-filled outlet tip serves to maintain the correct gas pressure in this tube. – Apparently unused, mint condition, in box. This invention contributed to the success of radio technology and long-distance telephony during World War I.
