Description
A collection of five pieces of Early American Pattern Glass (EAPG) tableware in the Flower Band pattern, circa 1870s-1880s. The lot consists of four vessels and one lid. The vessels include a large water pitcher, a creamer, a handled sugar bowl with a ruffled rim (consistent with EAPG celery vase forms), and one small handled cup/bowl. The collection also includes one lid topped with a pressed glass bird finial. Each piece is executed in clear pressed glass, featuring a wide, central band of pressed floral and foliate decoration. The pedestal bases are molded with an acorn and oak leaf pattern. The pressing process resulted in visible mold seams typical of the period. This 5-piece lot is consistent with patterns produced by various American glass works during the EAPG era. The largest item is the water pitcher.
