Title: Crash and Wreck Mail - Ireland 1955 (Apr. 18) Description: Picture postcard of S.S 'Britannic' to Ireland, posted on board on route to New York with a Paquebot cancel, carried on the same ship back to Liverpool, damaged on route by a fire in the ships hold, the stamp washed off by water used to extinguish the fire.  Handstamped violet "DAMAGED BY FIRE/AND SEA WATER/ON SS Brittanic" (with the ship name misspelt) applied in Liverpool or Ireland.  Also a copy of an article about the incident from "The Times" of April 29th.  Very rare, just one other cover recorded by Hoggarth & Guynn.
