Description
Antique Sephardic Ceremonial Wedding Ring. Crafted with an ornate miniature temple and used under the Chuppah during Jewish wedding ceremonies. Openwork multi-tiered Temple with turrets, tiny windows and a peaked roof symbolizing the Holy Temple in Jerusalem. The hinged Temple opens to reveal a miniature Sefer Torah and two rings. Two Hebrew inscriptions from the "Sheva Brachot" translate, "The sound of joy and happiness" and " The voices of the groom and bride" are engraved at the base of the temple. The Hebrew inscription on the band of the ring translates, "Mazel Tov." Excellent condition, measures: 4" H x 1.5" W, weight: 3.47 ozt
