Description
A fine pair of leather gauntlets of a type and style known to have been worn by soldiers of the Civil War. Although they are commonly associated with Cavalry troops, many Infantry and Artillery troops wore them also. They were seldom issued and mostly were private purchase items by the individual soldier that wore them, hence the wide variety of manufacturing techniques and details. CONDITION: light to moderate overall wear. The leather is generally still soft with the palms being a bit dry as expected. (02-27177/BF). $350-500.
