William R. Day autographed 3.5 x 2" card. Day served as an Associate Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court from 1903 to 1922 following his appointment by President Theodore Roosevelt.

William Rufus Day (1849-1923) was an American lawyer, diplomat, and Associate Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court. Before joining the Court, he served as U.S. Secretary of State under President William McKinley and was a member of the American delegation that negotiated the Treaty of Paris, ending the Spanish-American War. Appointed to the Supreme Court by President Theodore Roosevelt in 1903, Day served for nearly two decades and was noted for his restrained judicial philosophy and opinions involving constitutional and commercial law.
