The Fleetwood cachet features a portrait of Stone together with an illustration of the United States Supreme Court Building. The cover is postmarked in Chesterfield, New Hampshire, on August 25, 1948, the first day of issue for the 3-cent Harlan Fiske Stone commemorative stamp.

Fine condition with a few light horizontal surface creases visible across the cover.

Harry A. Blackmun (1908-1999) served as an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States from 1970 to 1994 following his appointment by President Richard Nixon. He is best remembered as the author of the Court's landmark majority opinion in *Roe v. Wade* (1973), one of the most significant and debated constitutional decisions in American legal history.
