Henry A. Wallace inscribed and signed this hardcover copy of New Frontiers to General Westervelt, writing, "For Gen. Westervelt in memory of many stimulating conversations," followed by his signature.

Very good condition overall. The green cloth-covered boards remain attractive with light edge and corner wear, including minor rubbing and a small bump at the head of the spine. The interior is clean with expected age toning, and Wallace's inscription and signature remain bold and clear. The copyright page bears only the 1934 copyright notice and does not state a printing or edition.

New Frontiers is a collection of essays by Henry A. Wallace examining agriculture, economics, conservation, and the changing role of government during the Great Depression. Henry A. Wallace (1888–1965) served as the 33rd Vice President of the United States under Franklin D. Roosevelt from 1941 to 1945 and was previously Secretary of Agriculture, where he helped shape many of the New Deal's agricultural policies.
