Jimmy Carter signed this personal typed letter on his letterhead dated June 18, 1984, accompanied by a boldly autographed 8 x 10-inch color portrait photograph. Addressed to Jerry Alten of TV Guide Magazine, Carter thanks the recipient for sending a caricature, writing in part: "I was delighted to receive the picture you sent. You have managed to capture in caricature the best of a great moment. Thanks for thinking of me."

Overall near fine condition. The photograph has a couple slight surface dings.

Jimmy Carter (1924–2024) served as the 39th President of the United States from 1977 to 1981. Before entering politics, he served as a U.S. Navy officer and managed his family's peanut farm in Plains, Georgia. Following his presidency, Carter became internationally recognized for his humanitarian work through The Carter Center, his efforts to promote democracy and public health, and his commitment to peace and human rights.
