She appeared in numerous classic films including *Little Women*, *The Vikings*, *Touch of Evil*, and *The Manchurian Candidate*, but is best remembered for her unforgettable performance as Marion Crane in Alfred Hitchcock's *Psycho* (1960), for which she received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress and won the Golden Globe Award. Leigh was one of Hollywood's most recognizable stars of the 1950s and 1960s and was the mother of actress Jamie Lee Curtis.
