Accompanied by a facsimile (printed) signed condolence letter issued on Harrods Chairman's Office letterhead following the deaths of Princess Diana and Dodi Fayed in 1997, as well as a second unrelated Harrods Chairman's Office typed letter regarding a painting of Dodi Fayed.

Mohamed Al-Fayed (1929-2023) was an Egyptian-born businessman best known as the longtime owner of Harrods department store in London and Fulham Football Club. He was the father of Dodi Fayed, who died alongside Diana, Princess of Wales, in the Paris car crash of August 31, 1997. In the years that followed, Al-Fayed remained a prominent public figure through his efforts to investigate the circumstances surrounding their deaths and preserve the memory of his son and Princess Diana.
