Ola Lee Mize autographed First Day Cover commemorating the 1954 Liberty definitive stamp, postmarked June 24, 1954, in Albany, New York. Mize added the inscriptions "Col.," "USAF," "(Ret)," and "10–11 June 1953 Korea."

Colonel Ola Lee Mize (1931–2014) was a United States Army officer and Medal of Honor recipient recognized for extraordinary heroism during the Korean War. On June 10–11, 1953, near Surang-ni, Korea, Mize repeatedly exposed himself to intense enemy fire while directing the defense of his position, rescuing wounded soldiers, and leading a counterattack that forced the enemy to withdraw. He received the Medal of Honor for his exceptional courage and later retired after a distinguished military career.
