The cover is additionally inscribed by Medal of Honor recipient Ernest Childers along the upper edge, "To: Chuck Morgan," with further notations including "Medal of Honor 22 Sept. 1943" and "Lt. Col. U.S. Army Ret." Admiral Eugene B. Fluckey has added "Medal of Honor + 4 Navy Crosses, Skipper USS Barb 5 War Patrols, World War II," while John R. Crews has added "WWII - 48-45." Desmond T. Doss has signed and added "CMH."

This remarkable multi-signed cover brings together four of America's most highly decorated World War II servicemen. Desmond T. Doss (1919-2006), a U.S. Army medic, became the first conscientious objector to receive the Medal of Honor after saving approximately 75 wounded soldiers during the Battle of Okinawa. Ernest Childers (1918-2005), a member of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation, received the Medal of Honor for extraordinary heroism in Italy in 1943 and became the first Native American of the war to earn the nation's highest military decoration. John R. Crews (1924-1999) was awarded the Medal of Honor for conspicuous gallantry while serving with the U.S. Army during the Battle of the Bulge. Admiral Eugene B. Fluckey (1913-2007), one of the U.S. Navy's greatest submarine commanders, earned the Medal of Honor for his aggressive leadership of USS *Barb* and remains the only American to receive both the Medal of Honor and four Navy Crosses.
