Ken Dahlberg autographed Purple Heart First Day Cover postmarked in Washington, D.C., on August 6, 1982, honoring the bicentennial of America's oldest military decoration. The cover bears the 20¢ Purple Heart commemorative stamp and is boldly autographed across the lower left in black ink.

Kenneth H. "Ken" Dahlberg (1917-2011) was an American businessman, decorated World War II naval aviator, and one of the founders of Miracle-Ear. During the Second World War he served as a U.S. Navy pilot in the Pacific Theater, flying combat missions and earning the Distinguished Flying Cross and Air Medal. Dahlberg later became nationally known through the Watergate investigation after one of his campaign contribution checks was traced to the Watergate burglars, making him an inadvertent but significant figure in one of the most consequential political scandals in American history.
