A well respected racer among his peers, he was a regular at Brooklands in his Brescia Bugatti including the 1922 JCC 200 Mile Race, driving a Crossley in 1924, an Aston Martin in the 1931 Double Twelve with R C Gallop as his driving partner, and a Supercharged Austin 7 that broke the international record for 1 mile, recording a speed of 102.28mph in 1931. He was part of the victorious team of three Austin 7 Ulsters that took part in the Light Car Club Relay Grand Prix in 1931. Elsewhere, he raced at the 1922 Southsea Speed Carnival, he also entered Le Mans in 1929 driving an Alvis 12/75 but did not start owing to a mechanical problem.
