Circa 1850 - 1870. Lovely gilt and carved wooden medallion mirror (N.III period); frame with "reserves" of glass with acanthus leaf moldings; prominent pediment centered with a shell enclosing a bouquet of flowers, within an openwork border of scrolling foliage. All original, gold leaf over gesso. Measures approximately 55" H 39" W 2" D. Good overall vintage condition with age-appropriate wear and some discoloration on mirror.
